Duncan Gaman is an executive producer with 18 years of working on a wide range of highly crafted animation commercials, short films, music videos and immersive technology. Working with some of the most talented directors and creative talent on the planet; creating films and moving images that tell stories.
He currently works at the production company Partizan, with the responsibility of leading Partizan Studio – which has a global roster of 25+ directors. Prior to this, Duncan worked at Passion Pictures, an Oscar-winning independent production company. Most notably during his time there, he produced a short film called ‘Loteria Navidad’, which won a British Arrows Gold as well as many international awards and was named as ‘the most awarded commercial in the world in 2016’. Before his role at Passion, Duncan worked at The Mill, working at the cross-section of the most exciting parts of the business – Mill+ in-house directors.
Duncan’s passion for the animation, innovative storytelling and directing talent is expressed even outside his work, he has contributed industry articles for Shots, D&AD, Made in Shoreditch discussing the ever-changing landscape of animation, from the rapid growth of the medium, animation taking centre stage and thriving globally, and NFTs in Advertising! He regularly gives talks at higher education institutions in the UK – most recently at UAL, NCL, UEL, and LCC – aiming to inspire the next generation to be part of the industry.
At the end of 2020, he was approached by BBC producer Andrew Castle and featured on several live broadcast interviews for BBC Business News on BBC One, BBC World Service & BBC Radio 4.
